biography

Marcy Richardson is a Canadian artist living and working in London, UK. Following a twenty-year career in brand marketing, her practice acts as a reverse-engineering of corporate persuasion, interrogating socio-political fragility and the aesthetics of containment.

Working from a studio residency at St Mary’s Church, Battersea, her practice is deeply rooted in painting but frequently expands into printmaking, sculpture, and installation. Utilising dense textures and flattened, emblematic forms, Richardson’s work functions as a physical confrontation, challenging the viewer to look beyond the surface of everyday systems.

She is currently completing her MA in Fine Art at the City & Guilds of London Art School. Her work has been exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (2021), Hastings Contemporary, Safehouse Peckham, The Lido Stores Margate, Thames-Side Studios, and Terrace Gallery.
